The forest fires in Indonesia are becoming an annual affair. To clear the land for farming, palm oil companies burn virgin rainforests down. Birdlife wanted Indonesians and the neighbouring countries affected to know that habitat loss had a devastating effect on native bird species. We recreated Indonesia’s most endangered bird species – many of which are on the brink of extinction – from charred and burned leaves found in the forest. Each bird formed from the trees that are supposed to provide shelter, but ultimately threaten their existence. This campaign is part of BirdLife's 'Forests of Hope' (Hutan Harapan) programme - Indonesia's first Ecosystem Restoration.
